Don't know much about demographics in the US, but I know that there are Indian associations in Madison, Wisconsin, and in Chicago, which is not far from Madison (under three hours), there is a newspaper for the Indian community; and they might have such information at their fingertips. For example, there is the Indian Graduate Students Association at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, http://www.sit.wisc.edu/~india/about_igsa/about_igsa.shtm. There is also an Indian restaurant in Wisconsin Dells called Ananda's, http://www.geocities.com/anandasfood/restaurant; the owner is from India, and has many Indian customers. It happens to be the only Indian restaurant for fifty miles in that part of south central Wisconsin; there are not many Indians locally. Here's a comprehensive set of links to all things Indian in the state: http://www.wiindia.com/ Best wishes with your business. |

I realize that your question is expired, but I want to let you know that you can find out almost anything from the U.S. Census, at http://factfinder.census.gov . I did a quick search and found that in 2000 there were 167 people in Kenosha County who were born in India (out of 149,577 ), and 162 people in Racine County who were born in India (out of 188,831). You can also find national origin statistics (for example, those who were born in the U.S. but are of Indian descent). You can find pretty much anything, for any geographic area. |
