You mentioned that it was owned by Lubrizol Inc. Do you know the
actual name of the plant by chance or any details about the accident?

Hello socree,

I wasn’t able to find any information about an incident in Wickliffe,
Ohio or in Painesville, Ohio.

The Lubrizol Corporation mentioned two incidents that occurred in
April 2003 in their first quarter, 2003 earnings teleconference. One
occurred in Detroit and the other in Le Havre, France.

The Lubrizol Corporation
First Quarter, 2003 Earnings Teleconference, April 24, 2003
http://www.lubrizol.com/Investors/pdflibrary/Q1-03TeleConfScript_FINAL.pdf
“Our guidance also includes two incidents this month that will affect
manufacturing expense in the second quarter.

Earlier this month, a fire destroyed a metalworking additive blending
facility we leased in Detroit. It happened while the plant was closed
for the night, and there were no injuries and no damage to surrounding
buildings. There was no damage to a nearby warehouse where we store
finished goods, and so we have been able to supply customers from this
warehouse and by shifting production to our Painesville, Ohio plant.
The costs associated with the fire, which we are incurring in the
second quarter, are estimated to be in the 1.5 to 2 million dollar
range.

Secondly, in unprecedented back-to-back incidents, a fire occurred
last week in a dispersant production unit in our Le Havre, France,
plant. Again, there were no injuries. Customer shipments resumed in 24
hours and we do not expect this incident will affect our volume
guidance. The cause has not as yet been determined. The costs
associated with this incident are also being incurred in the second
quarter, and our initial assessment is that it will have a negative,
pre-tax earnings impact of up to 2.5 million dollars.”
