I have found a book that is the Congressinal Directory from the 57th
Congress Second Session beginning Dec 1 1902. It is a first edition,
but has a little mold on the cover, so it is not in great shape. Is
it worth anything? Please explain how you found out. Thanks,
Elizabeth

Hello elizabeth199-ga,

According to PC Schmidt, Bookseller, this book is worth $19.95.

"Official Congressional Directory: Fifty-Seventh Congress (Second
Session--Beginning December 1, 1902)"

This is the only copy of this Congressional Directory that I have
found. However, as robertskelton-ga indicated, you can also try a
search on BookFinder.com. Here is my search for versions of the
Congressional Directory by A.J. Halford, who was responsible for the
version you found. That should give you some additional evidence of
the possible value.

"Searching for books where Author is halford / Title is congressional
directory"

Request for Answer Clarification by elizabeth199-ga on 02 Jul 2003 14:18 PDT
Hi there. Again, thanks for the answer, but I am looking not for what
the book sells for, but a more offical listing of what it is actually
worth, espeically given the situation that it has mold on it. I
assume there is some sort of reference book for book sellers (well I
know that these do exist) that lists book prices for various
conditions (like new, good, acceptable, etc) and I am looking for a
more specific and offical listing of what this thing is worth. Not
just what it sells for on ebay or other sites. I can look that up
myself. Thanks.

I refer you to the clarification that I have posted for your previous
question; it applies equally as well to this question.

Technically, this answer counts as the answer to the question I asked.
However, it isn't really what I wanted. I, obviously, could have
looked this stuff up on ebay or a book sales site and didn't need to
pay someone 4.00 to do it for me. When I shared this, he stuck by the
answer, which I guess is fine, but a three-star average kind of
answer/service. I better approach, I think, would have been to ask,
first, if I just wanted him to tell me how much the book was currently
selling for on ebay or a book site and if this counted for the answer
I was looking for. But oh well. Three stars-average.
