Hello joeyd and thank you for your question.

Dr. H. Trevor Colbourn was the President of UCF in 1986

The UCF Story:
"in January 1978, Dr. H. Trevor Colbourn was selected to lead the
university into the second decade"
"UCF's third President, Dr. Steven Altman, assumed office in July
1989"
http://pegasus.cc.ucf.edu/~perspay/handbook/USPS/hbsec1.html

So, in 1986 Dr.H.Trevor Colbourn was President.

Also if we look at the Powerpoint presentation below, we see:
"UCF’s Presidents

1992 - Dr. John Hitt became
    UCF’s 5th president

1963 - Dr. Charles Millican was appointed
    FTU’s first president

1991 - Dr. Bob Bryan was appointed
    interim president

1978 - Dr. Trevor Colbourn became
    the 2nd president

1989 - Dr. Steve Altman became
    UCF’s third president"
