I am running Windows XP on my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop, and I also
have a port replicator that the laptop can slide into. Both the
laptop and the port replicator have ethernet ports. I am trying to
configure my Verizon DSL to use the port replicator's port, but
without success so far.

In Windows XP, under "Network Connections," the connections are
labeled "Local Area Connection" and "Local Area Connection 2"
respectively. When I used a cable-model connection, both ports worked
fine.

Since DSL requires a login, I set up a special connection ("Verizon
Online") with device type PPPoE. It works, but it automatically uses
the first ethernet port. It does not work with the second ethernet
port, and I do not even see where I would be able to specify that
information.

So what do I do?

An acceptable response would show me how to configure this. So far, I
have avoided loading any software from Verizon or any special drivers,
so I would like something I can just set myself in Windows XP.
