Hello t2muser, thank you for your question and subsequent
clarifications.
It seems that there is no biography available on the internet of Frank
Butler so let's make the first!
Frank Butler was born in Ireland in 1850 his parents and their 2
younger children left for the USA in 1858 whilst leaving Frank with an
aunt in Ireland until they could afford to send for him. Frank was not
happy and worked until he could afford the passage. He eventually
arrived in New York City in 1863 at the age of 13. By this time his
family had moved further west and he survived by doing "odd jobs" He
was good with dogs which got him in to show business from which he
started a career as a trick shooter with Vaudeville. At the time of
their marrage (23 Aug 1876) Frank was 26 years old and Annie was just
16 years old.
Interestingly, I did some genealogical research on Frank and found a
record for a Frank Butler Born 1850 in Ulster (Ireland) and died
November 23 NOV 1926.

"Frank's early life was similar to Annie's. He was born in Ireland and
when he was 8, his parents and two younger children left for America.
They placed Frank with an aunt until they had enough money to send for
him, but it was not a happy arrangement. He ran away and worked for
his passage to America on an old sailing ship, arriving in New York
City in 1863. His family had moved farther west and he survived doing
odd jobs.
Frank was clever in training dogs and that led to show business. Then
he teamed up with a young man in a trick shooting act for vaudeville.
He became a crack shot and wherever the show appeared, a match with a
local shooter was arranged. He met his match with Annie. In the
following months, the two fell in love and the next year on June 22,
1876, they were married. Frank always called Annie "my little girl."
