Hello again nomisi,

After searching Google for "fism magician's convention," I found the
MagicWeek UK Magic News site
(http://www.magicweek.co.uk/thisweek_magic_news.htm). From this site,
I found a link to the FISM 2003 convention web site
(http://www.fism2003.com). Since convention sites often give
suggestions on events or things to do in the area, I figured this may
be the case with FISM. Indeed, on the FISM web site, under the
"Netherlands" section, it gives quite a few suggestions:

"The Hague. A pleasant setting.
City with an international character. All cultures and nationalities
seem to feel at home in The Hague. The ‘political capital of the
Netherlands’ with its government buildings round the ‘Binnenhof’,
various royal palaces and the majority of the Dutch ministries, has an
irresistible attraction on companies and organisations with
international interests.

City of attractions. In The Hague you can visit all parts of the
Netherlands in just one afternoon (the world-famous miniature city
Madurodam), you can find five centuries of painting in various
museums, you can watch all kinds of arts in the more than 90
galleries, you can surprise yourself in Europe’s first space theatre
(Omniversum), you can try your luck at the largest casino in the
Netherlands (Holland Casino) and select from the numerous
international restaurants.

Chic shopping.
Of all Dutch cities The Hague boasts the largest amount of square
metres of

shopping area, most of it beautifully integrated in its historic
architecture. Just one of the reasons why shopping in the inner city
of The Hague may justly be called ‘chic’.

One city, two seaside resorts.
Which city in the Netherlands is known as a green metropolis and has
also two seaside resorts? You will have guessed it ... The Hague!
Scheveningen is a very lively part of the city with its long, sandy
beach, trendy boulevard, Pier, Casino, Sea Life Scheveningen and so
much more. Kijkduin is smaller and radiates friendliness.

To put it briefly: The Hague is the place for you!"

If you need any more assistance, please let me know with a
clarification, and I'll be glad to help.

I used to live in The Hague ... for 5 years!

And, believe me, there's not a lot going on there.

I used to enjoy taking my family to Delft, Leiden and Scheveningen
(all of which are nearby) but Den Haag itself, forget it!

Amsterdam is much more interesting with its canals, museums, etc.
