You might begin by improving your spelling and grammar. For instance, the first sentence in your question should have a semicolon, not a comma: "I have a real interest in helping others; my plan is to become a valued member of the Google team." Semicolons separate sentences, while commas separate clauses. You can remember the difference by remembering that if the two parts you are separating can be broken up into two distinct sentences, then you should use a semicolon. Otherwise, use a comma. Speaking of which, the comma in "...google assists me at every turn, by asking..." is superfluous; the sentence fragment should instead read: "...google assists me at every turn by asking..." In addition, "quieries" and "professoinal" are spelled "queries" and "professional, respectively. Another common mistake that many people make is the use of "might of," as I see you have in your question. While in speech you might say "might've," which *sounds* like "might of," the contraction is actually formed from the two words "might have," as in: "Please tell me what I might have missed in my studies." These, and other grammar rules, can be found at the online version of Strunk & White's "The Elements of Style," a classic, yet concise work on English grammar: http://www.bartleby.com/141/ |

As far as I am aware, Google pops up "Did you mean" in one of two cases: i) Where you have misspelt a word (like in the case of "://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=stufff") ii) Where a site has a word mispelled, and believes you need correcting (in my example from point one, perhaps you wanted to find a company with the name "Stufff") In other matters, more advanced/restricted results can be achieved with an engine as powerful as Google (although commas are not required/needed in Google search strings). More information can be found here: ://www.google.com/help/refinesearch.html Hope this helps. |
