I am looking for a supplier/manufacturer/dealer of a certain model
knife. Description:

3.5" single sided steel blade
Cast aluminium handle
Novel locking mechanism - thumb activated button on hinge allows blade
to be flicked open (no spring) for quick, single handed operation
Blade carries the words "Flic-Flac" etched in Art Deco-esque font.
Also 440 FES ROSTFREI in small print.

Dear spurious,

It took some research, but finally I found the knife's manufacturer.
The German word "Rostfrei" (= rustproof) led me to the conclusion that
the manufacturer must be located in Germany or at least a
German-speaking country. "FES" could well be the company's name, or an
abbreviation of the same. So I searched the German trademark database
and finally found out that indeed a knife manufacturer in Solingen,
Germany has registered "FES" as its trademark.

Here is full contact information:

Ferd. Everts Sohn GmbH & Co.
Neuenhofer Str. 46
42657 Solingen
GERMANY
Phone: +49(0)212-24805-0
Fax: +49(0)212-24805-28
E-Mail: info@ferd-everts-sohn.de

Their website (http://www.ferd-everts-sohn.de), normally providing a
full catalog of their products, is, alas, undergoing re-development at
the moment. But I managed to locate a cached version of an outdated
(!) version of their site, displaying their range of one-hand knives
with aluminium handles. Since that catalog does not reflect their
current range of products, it is possible that your knife is not among
the types featured there:

I could order one on-line?

Dear spurious,

Unfortunately, I was not able to locate any online stores selling FES
knives. But FES does, as I found out from websites where they are
mentioned, also accept orders from private persons. So you should be
able to get any of their products directly from them.

Best regards,
Scriptor

I cannot describe my excitement. I'll email the manufacturer for a
catalog, but I don't suppose
