Hello again probonopublico, I did in fact research your question for quite some time, looking in all the dark and dusty corners of the spy world on the internet, all to no avail I'm afraid. I checked the PRO files, and did several image searches on various search engines, using various combinations of names. However some interesting tid bits turned up: "MI5 officer James McGuirk Hughes, whose code-name was PG Taylor, might in actual fact be James Taylor, who "remained on the executive of the British League of Ex-Servicemen from 1939 through to April 1945, when he disappeared", (Dave Renton 'Fascism, Anti-Fascism and Britain in the 1940s' 2000, p126)." http://members.lycos.co.uk/mere_pseud_mag_ed/History/MadDogs2.htm also: "One former member of the movement stated that Hughes had disclosed his employment by MI5 to Mosley when he applied for the position, commenting that Mosley accepted because Hughes' dual membership of MI5 and the BUF "need not have clashed.....He [Hughes] was "on our side", which seemed good enough'.(46)" http://members.lycos.co.uk/mere_pseud_mag_ed/History/Hope1.htm So Mosley knew Hughes was working for MI5?? BUT! If you look at the gentleman 3 places to Mosleys left in the photograph below, you will notice that the he is making a hand gesture near his face. This gesture is a masonic one, and as everyone knows all MI5 agents are freemasons! "Mosley and other national and local Blackshirt leaders at the Hull Metropole, December 1936." http://www.heretical.com/British/charnley.html Anyway, in answer to your question "Is it something that I said?" the answer is, a resounding, no :) Very best regards (as always) THX1138 Search strtegy included: Hughes fascist james mi5 ://www.google.com/search?hl=pt&ie=ISO-8859-1&as_qdr=all&q=Hughes+fascist++james+mi5&lr= |

Great stuff! Many thanks. However, your theory that all MI5 agents were masons is not relevant because Hughes was not employed directly by MI5. You see, in those days, the Director General (Vernon Kell) would not employ Catholics and the said Hughes was definitely a Catholic. I've even found a witness who saw him leaving a Catholic church with his family. I have Charnley's book and I will take a close look at the piccy. Thanks anyway. I figure that if the TRULY GREAT thx1138 can't find a piccy then there ain't one. Kindest regards Bryan |

Hello again Bryan, Thank you for your generous tip and for the excellent rating of my answer. Just out of curiosity, are you aware of any pictures of Kurt Jahnke? I still occasionally check for any new information regarding him, and will of course let you know should anything turn up. Very best regards THX1138 |

Hi, th Yes, I've got a piccy of Kurt Jahnke but I've only ever seen the one. It's in a book that I've got but the title eludes me at present. Rgds Bryan |
