Hello,  I suppose your suggested spelling might be possible.   This
person was buried in a family plot in 1958.  There is no record of who
made the arrangements.  Everyone in the plot is Lockwood.  The last
Lockwood burial was in 1881.  It is a mystery.  I was trying to
determine the nationality of the person.  The spelling was given to me
by the cemetary. I  suppose an error could have been made in the
translation of the name along the way.

Hello,  Your suggestion sound very plausible.  The spelling was given
to me by the Cemetary where this person is buried.  We have a mystery.
The last person to be buried in the plot was in 1881. All people
buried there are Lockwoods. This person was buried there in the last
available plot in 1958.  I was trying to determine the nationality of
the person.  It is very possible the name was spelled differently
though the caretaker was very explicit in his information.

Dear Pat,

I will not offer this as an answer you would have to pay for, since it
is not really what you expect. But it could prove a bit helpful:

The name is Arabic, a woman's name. Though I could not find out the
exact meaning of the first name, "Samawiyah" means as much as
"knowledge of the sky", "glimpse of the sky". The second part of the
name, "al-Barq" or "al-Bark" is the family name. It can be found quite
often in the Arabic-speaking world.

Unfortunately, Arabic names are in use everywhere between Morocco and
Bangladesh. So there is no chance to say what country of region of the
world the woman exactly came from.
