The original system software for the PowerMac 5400/120 was OS7.5.3.
Is this the software you are looking for? Does it need to be a CD?
The software is available for download as a series of self-mounting
disk images. Would that be an acceptable answer?

Hi,
I have found many sites that have Stuffit Expander available for
download and should fit on a 720K Floppy.
http://ftp.tidbits.com/pub/pub/tidbits/select/stuffit-expander.sea

Please let me know if that helps you.
Thank you.

Hi,
I'm sorry, I thought the first link would work for you since it's a
self-extracting file and the links were dated 1999.
OS 7.5.3 can be downloaded at this link:

Please let me know if that helps you.

Stuffit Expander can be downloaded from the Aladdin site:

The OS is 7.5.3 rev 2, and floppies would be fine.

I couldn't find a download at the Aladdin site that would fit on a
floppy, and I don't have a CD burner. If I could decompress a web
browser, then I could get online and download anything of any size.
It's just the first step that's the hardest.

You could run into a Catch-22, in that you will need a program such as
Stuffit or BinHex to decode the downloaded Stuffit file.

You might want to contact Sun Remarketing.

It is usually not permissible to sell Apple System software in the
aftermarket, but they might be able to help. eBay has lots of people
selling System software on CD.

Stuffit Deluxe 4.0 can be purchased from Sun Remarketing.

I did run into a Catch-22. None of the links for stuffit had a file
that would run on the Performa. I don't want to spend any more money
on this machine, since I just bought a new eMac (and love it). I
think I am going to try to sell this old one or just use it for a word
processor.

Would the new Stuffit 6.0 that came with my OS X work on the older
Performa, if I burnt it to a CD? It's 3.8 Meg so it won't fit on a
floppy.
