Hello helpsearching:

Thanks for the question. Most states maintain some sort of online
inmate search facility. If you can tell us the state in which they
were convicted, that would be a big help.

Thanks.

Hello,

I can provide you with a website containing 48 states' Department of
Corrections phone numbers and links to their online inmate locator
services(excluding District of Columbia, Hawaii and Rhode Island), as
well as links to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website and the Federal
inmate locator. If this would suffice as an answer, please let me
know and I will be glad to post it.

Perhaps you could provide the name of the person. We wouldn't know how
to look if we didn't know who we were looking for. :)

To BYRD: Yes, the list of links to online prisoner locators would suffice.

Hi there,

This site has links to inmate locators, listed state by state. Some
states don't have them, and when that is the case there is a link to
the appropriate Dept of Correction information page. Some counties,
such as California, maintain their own locators.

Dear helpsearching,

Since I was busy last evening, it wasn't until this morning that I
received your request for the links I had offered. I see that in the
meantime robertskelton-ga has already answered your question.
However, I'd still like to furnish you with a link to what I believe
is a fairly complete listing of inmate locator services here:
http://www.thepamperedprisoner.com/inmatesearch.htm As I said, it
includes 48 states with the exception of Hawaii, Rhode Island and the
District of Columbia. It also includes phone numbers to the various
states' departments of correction. Unfortunately, the link appears to
be down this morning, though it was working fine the other day. Just
in case it's slow for you as well, is undergoing maintenance or
something, here's another link, though it's not quite as good as the
first: http://www.inmatesplus.com/

In addition, here is the link to the Federal prison inmate locator:
http://www.bop.gov/inmate.html

Best regards, and good luck in finding the person you're seeking,
