The ratio of men/women in the biggest services like Yahoo Personals
will be extremely similar, due to the huge sample of the population
they are reaching, without offering anything specific to attract more
of either sex. So would you be happy with just the size of the
membership base of the top sites, with a qualified estimate of the
percentages of men and women?

Also, I believe that many sites may have over-reported (lied?) about
how many members they have.

Hmmmmm.... That's a good point. Most of the bigger sites probably do
have about the same mix of men and women. But I already have plenty of
info about those sites, because I did a little of my own research in
follow up to your previous answer.

I'll rewrite my question:

Of the online dating sites which attract mainly female members, which
are the largest?

I would think this would be impossible to calculate accurately, since
(on the Internet) many self-reported "females" are not what they claim
to be. ;)

I'm willing to live with a little bit of inaccuracy. There are some
fairly strong trends out there that should wash out any errors - for
instance,  EHarmony.com (which matches people based on complex
personality profiles) has twice as many female as male users.

Compatti.com has more then twice as many females for each male user.
They offer quite interesting match by compatibility but less
complicated then eHarmony.
