Where are you typing your stuff? Is it in Word? Or do you mean to
change an already typed document and want to avoid manually removing
the spaces?

You could try using the "Replace All" facility of a few text editors.
Use the hex code of a carriage return twice and replace it with one.
This should work out.

In any reasonable word processor, the global search and replace tool
works wonders. For instance, in Microsoft Word, the Find and Replace
boxes include a Special button that inserts paragraph marks or other
special characters. You can then choose to replace them all with
nothing, thus removing all blank lines.

There are also applications specially designed for this sort of thing,
especially for those who format e-books. Interparse is a good example
of a free piece of software that will remove blank lines, trailing
spaces or margins with two clicks of the mouse.
