Play online since two years without network problem and now I face a
mysterious problem from my favorite game Asheron's Call (Dark Majesty)

My Configuration :

- Two Pcs with Windows XP Pro on a LAN with a a Windows 2000 server.
- my PC : duron 1Ghz with ATI rage pro 2000
- NO internet browsing problem on both clients and server, the other client
PC *can* play completly normally at AC. We've Sygate Home Network

My Proclem :

Very very slow motion when I enter in the game (no 3d problem). The monitor
in AC is yellow of course and very quicly the packet losses up to 100% but I
didn't be disconnected (stayed 5 minutes). My PC has been formatted and
complety reinstalled (AC is the only software in the box with Office XP).
Also my ping seemes artificially better than the other client (100 ms vs
300-400 ms for the other client pc).

I've changed my MTU setting with mtuspeed programm without success. I've no
firewall on my lan connexion only on server( without it , it does'nt work
better)

has there been any change in your computer and network configuration from
before you had the problem and now? did the problem only show itself when you
started to play AC:DM? that is, did it not occur at first and only manifested
istelf after several weeks of play? has Sygate Home Network changed their
service offerings for you? also have you tried using any other high intensity
network services (ie. other similar games or video streaming) and have you
noticed any lagging or slow downs there? one last one for you! what is the
manufacturer and model number of your hub/router/modem

- i've deinstalled the ethernet card and install a simple 56k modem and i've
always the same problem
: a very good ping but a packet losses up when i move in the game
- modem adsl : alcatel speed touch and hub sphp basic from acctoon
- no problem for video streaming
- i use the same build from sygate home network software
- the problem appears one month ago after a reinstallation of windows

Greetings from Google!

This is a wild guess... but are you on a Resident Network connection
in college? Who is your internet service provider? I've been having
the same problem recently, and I may have a fix for you.

Best Regards,

Are all the network games slow? Do you have problems to copy files from one
computer to another? How did you setup your DNS configuration?

Make sure your network adapter and graphics adapter are not sharing the same IRQ.
If they are, fix this by changing the IRQ allocation from BIOS or moving the
network adapter to different PCI slot if possible.
