Howdy us2512,

Have you installed the most current (dated 5/20/2002)
XP drivers for your printer? It is available at:
http://www.support.xerox.com/

Looking Forward, denco-ga

Also, was this computer "upgraded" to Windows XP Professional
from a different Windows operating system (98, etc.) prior to
the problem appearing?

Thanks! denco-ga

As posted earlier, the computer is a Dell Optiplex GX270 purchased
with XP Professional. I loaded the printer drivers and the computer
would crash when I try to to print with the stop messages earlier. I
have tried to download the XP drivers but there is a warning that
comes up and it says that "they have not been signed by Microsoft." I
would really like to know if there is any proper explanation to
satisfy me. Thanks!!!

Howdy us2512,

Appreciate your patience with the troubleshooting.

There might be a complicated fix, but it is worth
trying an potential easy fix before going there.

If you have not already, go ahead and download and
install the current drivers from Xerox. Never mind
that the drivers are not signed by Microsoft. The
"warning" just means that Microsoft hasn't reviewed
the drivers, but since they are from a legitimate
source (Xerox!) they are OK to install.

This might not clear the problem, but the alternative
(going through Microsoft support) for a potential fix
for what appears to be a known problem would be far
more time consuming, etc.

Looking Forward, denco-ga
