Having setup the regional info under xp, hebrew seems to work fine in
general (explorer, mozilla, etc). However when I try to type or see
hebrew in kazaa (lite) I get a garbage font. What needs to be done? |

Hi politicalguru,
Yes I've looked at that FAQ...there wasn't anything specific there.
I've seen this too:

But there doesn't seem to be a useful resolution on this thread.
Thanks for the clarification.

My assumption is that you got Kazaa Lite in English which has no
language support for Hebrew characters. Your other programs (Explorer,
Mozilla) can support that language. If you notice in a download page
for Kazaa Lite, there are several different language versions for
Kazaa:

There doesn't seem to be any Hebrew version. Maybe you could request
one on the forum (through the home page):
Kazaa Lite home page

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the response. I tried installing the hebrew version
of kazaa lite (for example from www.kazaa.co.il) but it still didn't
solve the font problem.. the hebrew still doesn't appear. Thats why
it seems to me that its an OS problem, ie kazaa is accessing some
default font which isn't the one that contains hebrew on my installation.

Same thing happened to me when I was using certain programs that
required me to type japanese/korean characters. Apart from using an
operating system translated in those languages, the solution for me
was to use a multi-lingual software, specifically Asiansuite by
Unionway. One of the options in the software is an input tool which
you can use to type in the characters. You might want to try using
that kind of program for hebrew.
Best of luck,

Thanks for the tip. I know what you mean, I've used similar programs
for Japanese before too. In this case I've tried Tavultesoft's Keyman,
but it didn't seem to make a difference for me.
