Sleep deprived, stressed and sick feeling in my stomach. Must keep
working effectively for two more days (max 5 hrs sleep each day) till
deadline. Red bull? Coffee? Royal jelly? Ginseng? Taurine? Any good
ideas?

hi spurious :)

Sounds like you need to be booking a nice week long vacation after
your current deadline is met! Perhaps a boating trip ;)

Not sure if the following is conducive to your workplace surroundings,
but I find taking 15 - 20 minute cat naps quite good during stressful
times. Even if you're too wound up to actually drop off to sleep,
just removing yourself temporarily to a calmer place (e.g. empty
meeting room, empty office, sitting in a park, walk around the block,
etc) can do wonders for reviving your mind. I also find gentle
temple/head and face massages quite calming (ideally, given by someone
else but quite easy to do yourself, too).

I think too much coffee actually exacerbates stress levels (probably
due to the caffeine) and the fizzyness of Red Bull will probably just
agitate your stomach even more. Given the two day period in question,
it's doubtful that supplements like Gingseng and Royal Jelly will have
any measurable effect over such a short time span.

I often work 20-hour days, and have worked through the night. I do
find Red Bull helps to keep my brain together, as does coffee,
although coffee is less kind to the stomach. Chocolate can be useful
for an instant boost, although you'll probably get a kickback later.
The other really good thing that keeps me going is lots of fresh
fruit. I tend to home in on smoothies rather than whole fruit at
these times.

Thanks jem-ga and tehuti-ga. Eventually, I decided to find a
different career. Ironically, having made up my mind to quit, the
pressure's off a bit and I'm probably working more effictively.
