What is a good way to get detailed information on small private
companies? I am in a job search, and prior to interviewing, I'd like
to be as savvy about each company as possible.

Initially my search will target companies that have something to do
with medical device manufacturing, and will be in the northwest
suburbs of Chicago. I'm using Reference USA database to search out the
companies, and it is a source of some detail, such as range of
employees and revenue, contact name and title, web site, etc. There
may be a hundred companies before I'm through, so I'll just list a
couple here:
March & Green, St Charles, IL
Sonoscan, Inc, Elk Grove Village, IL
Hermann Ultrasonics, Schaumburg, IL

from Google Answers; I'm looking for sources or ideas for finding info
on small companies in general.
