I am writing a business plan for a product that can be sold to people
in fraternities and sororities. I need to know how many people this
market comprises in the United States.

Note that I am looking for current members, not alums. I've found a
few resources on the web that list "total initiates", but this is
usually a cumulative number including members from years past.

Breaking it down by fraternity/sorority is extremely helpful.
Breaking it down by campus is helpful.

Here are a couple of estimates:

"Tom Goodwin, Campus Crusade regional director and staff coordinator
for the Greek conferences, sees the regional gatherings as a strategic
way to reach college campuses with the gospel. "There are 720,000
fulltime undergraduates on more than 750 campuses who are members of
fraternities and sororities," Goodwin said. "Each of these members is
associated with a local chapter that in many cases is part of a
national organization."

"Today's Greek Community

66 NIC Men's Fraternities

26 NPC Women's Fraternities

9 NPHC Groups

22 NALFO Group

9 Million Members Total

750,000 Undergraduate Members

12000 Chapters

Located on 800 campuses in USA and Canada"

I hope another Researcher will be able to locate breakdowns by name of
organization and campus.
