Hi jonahvampire,

A most interesting subject. :)

Background information: Morpheus, a.k.a the Sandman. Morpheus, is the
Sandman. Morpheus has many different names, since every culture has
known of him in some form. However, Morpheus is rarely referred to
directly as the Sandman.

Morpheus uses the sand to put his captors to sleep. This is a
traditional power of the children's tale of The Sandman.

"Sandman, Dream, Morpheus, Oneiros...
The name matters not. Neil Gaiman created the comics, Dave McKean
created their covers, many artists have worked on his image. Yet all
of us knew him long before any of this began.

This wallpaper is one of many images of Morpheus that has resided on

"When they meet, it’s love at first sight for Fred only, of course.
After an interlude of witty badinage, Ginger departs, and Fred,
appointing himself her official "sandman," sprinkles sand on the floor
of Horace’s suite and dances her to sleep."

"Isn't the Sandman legend something to the effect that the Sandman
sprinkles sand in everyone's eyes and that's why they fall asleep?
Well if he can do that then he can be anywhere he wants in a jiffy, so
to speak. Kind of like Santa. The important question is, has anyone
ever seen Sandman and Perry together? You know, like Batman and Bruce
Wayne or Superman and Clark Kent."

Sabrina, The Teenage Witch (has 12 references to The Sandman)

Sandman Written By - Dan Berendsen

"Sylvia- But you have no experience, no skills and Congress isn’t in
session right now so... Oh wait! I know, you could be a sandman.

Sabrina- I could be the sandman?

Sylvia- No, a sandman. Am I talking too fast for you dear? It’s like a
paper-route, you put the people in your neighbourhood to sleep at
night. Any idiot can do it, so you’re qualified.

Sabrina- I’ll take it. Wait! Is there a uniform involved?

Sylvia waves her hand and Sabrina finds herself clad in a long white
night-shirt and a tasselled bed-cap."

[edit]

"Int. Valerie’s bedroom. Sabrina’s just done her sandman thing and
Valerie sleeps. Sabrina crosses her name from her list."

[edit]

"Int. Harvey’s bedroom. Late that night. The caffeine is doing it’s
thing. He lies in bed with his eyes wide open, his mind hyper-active.
Sabrina the sandman appears beside him and sprinkles the sleepy-time
sand in his eyes. They close."

BAREFOOTING IN BORACAY
http://www.newsflash.org/2003/03/tl/tl001966.htm

"Boracay Island, Aklan, March 6, 2003 (PNA) -- Sink your ankles deep
into the softest, finest, whitest sand. Sand so friendly, you can't
find it anywhere else in the world except Boracay.

It's like burrowing into sifted confectionery sugar, top-cake flour,
or baby powder. Gentle, gratifying. Bordering on the unreal. It's just
got to be what the sandman sprinkles at dreamtime."
