i have been using ms windows 98.i asked aol to provide this
information but they declined saying they dont keep that information.
however reading various
articles ,i understand that AOL keeps this data in storage to build
profile of the customer

Have you checked your "cookies" list. Some sites that you visited
probably left cookies on your system, especially if you "registered"
at the site, or otherwise entered any sort of information.

These cookies are stored in your system, are more or less permanent
(unless you consciously delete them), and are dated, so you can tell
when the site was visited.

Let me know if you need any further information about this.

And good luck with your current situation.

Just out of curiousity, I checked the cookies on my own computer, and
found 47 sites from the month of April 2000 that left behind cookie
files that are still in my system. A fair number of these were
financial sites, since I do a little trading myself.

To answer I would need the following information:

   1. What OS are you running?
   2. Has the OS remained constant since that time?
   3. Do you use a router, or are you connecting directly to the internet?

Odds are the data is not anywhere on your system. Have you contacted AOL?

these records simply may not exist. phone companies keep records of
each call you made and received, but internet service providers may be
a different story.

what is possible is that you may have the files from the websites you
visited still cached on your computer. (internet browsers download
each page to your computer's hard drive for the purpose of making
browsing faster if you return to the site again at a later point in
time). this possibility diminishes with time, however, since it was 3
years ago. your cache may have been cleared (either by you manually,
or by the browser automatically when it reaches a certain size or age
limit).
