I suggested these on the premise that you mean free as registered but unclaimed URLs, but are paid for when taken. Do tell me if I'm wrong on that premise. http://www.itgov.com is registered, but untaken. So with www.resourcen.com . www.itgod.com www.fastlance.com www.bestforce.com www.star-it.com (with the dash) www.ion-it.com |

hello karelp, I also took your requirement for a 'free' domain name as meaning one that is 'available to purchase'. If this is not correct, please do let researchers know. Thank you. Here are some domain names that relate to your business itself. They were all available when I checked today. Like the other researchers, I am still thinking and searching! If you would actually 'prefer' having a domain name "that just sounds cool" please let us know that also. 'If' and when you do select the domain name you want for your company from those suggested by a researcher, that researcher will post it as an answer for you. Here's a novel approach with an interesting twist that I wasn't aware was even possible until now: Call your new business "IT HAPPENS" - it's current, it's hip, and you have to admit, it's catchy (for obvious reasons). The name will lead to enormous possibilities for the purposes of adverising and you can benefit from this common, more conservative version of a common phrase. The twist?... The domain name www.@.com is open and up for grabs. Honestly, until now I didn't know characters could be used in a URL but this appears to be one of them. Now if someone can't remember THAT domain name when they are trying to find out where "IT" is happening @, they've got bigger problems than your business will probably want to tackle anyway! Hi All, To clarify: With free domain I meant: available domain. One that can be registered and is not yet taken. I do not intend to "buy" a domain name from another individual or organization who has registered the name. I prefer non-descriptive names, but more cryptic names. |

Regarding the comment above suggesting www.@.com: unfortunately, the "@" symbol is reserved as a special symbol for URLs. It is most commonly used as a separator between POP account and domain (someone@example.com) or as a separator between username/password and domain (ftp://username:password@www.example.com). As a verification step, I checked with the following domain name registration sites and they all rejected my entry of www.@.com: www.domain.com www.register.com www.web.com www.networksolutions.com --zorba-ga |
