In 1925, many in the British Establishment regarded Fascism with
favour and saw it as the only effective antidote to Communism.

Indeed, Britain's Fascist Party 'The British Fascisti' (founded in
1923) was inspired by Musso.

Musso himself (who had received financial help from Britain during
WW1) came to London for the Prime Minister's Conference in 1922 and
was wined and dined at Buck House.

Consequently, any Italian Fascist who knew about British attitudes
would have been very friendly towards Britain ... Similarly, also to
the USA.

In any event, the Venetian Lido was a popular watering hole for the
British and American upper class during the twenties.
