Hi there, The "i" stands for internet. An article at the Guardian: "For a struggling Apple, the subsequent huge success of the iMac (the "i" stands for internet) re-established the company as the quintessential "cool" computer company, and helped keep it afloat after years of losing market share to Microsoft." http://www.guardian.co.uk/arts/features/story/0,11710,969807,00.html When I did this Google search, the answer appeared in most of the snippets on the results page: apple "the i stands" ://www.google.com/search?q=apple+%22the+i+stands%22 Best wishes, robertskelton-ga |

it doesnt necessarily stand for "internet". it is just the prefix to all of apple's consumer lines, where all their professional lines start with "power". eg iBook as opposed to PowerBook iMac as opposed to PowerMac |
