I need help recovering data from a Sony memory stick. I have a Sony ICD-MS515 digital recorder with a 64 MB memory stick. The Memory Stick Voice Editor program (version 2.04) that came with the recorder has worked fine in the past. However, the last time I used it to transfer a file to my computer I ran into a problem. I transfered one file to my hard drive and then I renamed a few of the files. When I returned the data stick to the recorder it generated a "ACCESS ERROR" message and my data was no longer accessible. So I then put the memory stick back into my Lexar Media reader to see if I could access the files but the folders and voice files that had been there a moment earlier were no longer visable. I received a message: "No Message Folder Found. Would you like to create a new Message Folder?" I answered NO to the question since I didn't know what was going on. So I have not created a new folder. When I look at the drive in Windows Explorer it shows that 15MB of data are being used. Can someone help me recover the voice files from the memory stick? |

Try plugging the memory stick in a different machine, and see what happens. If nothing happens, the data might have been corrupted. Does Norton Disk Doctor or Microsoft Scandisk recognize the memory stick? Try running it there. |
