I am looking for a VPN gateway that supports both PPTP and IPsec
protocols simultaneously.  The price preferably should be under
$1,000. (See below)

It must support both PPTP and IPsec as an endpoint, not as pass-thru. 
I need IPsec support so that remote users with multiple devices at
home can use a "router", like Linksys BEFVP41, to tunnel into our
company network.  I need PPTP support so that users can connect to our
company network from a PC using Windows built-in VPN client while they
are "on the road".

I am quite familiar with solutions at the low end.  Some of them, like
Linksys products, support IPsec only.  Some of them, like Barricade
Plus from SMC, support both PPTP and IPsec but not simultaneously.

I expect a short list of candidates -- three to five will suffice. 
For each candidate, I need vendor name, product model, price and where
it is sold on the web.

I need a robust product that does not crash or hang.  If you can
provide evidence to that effect, I will regard your answer as top-rate
and will award an additional bonus.  I would consider products between
$1,000 and $2,000 if no good ones can be found for under $1,000.

It looks like you could pick it up for $350, this firewall usually
goes for around $900. These kind of specialized products show up
rarely on eBay, but could be a good deal when they do.

Thanks for the tip, Alexander.  Instagate EX2 looks like a good
product.  I may bid on it after I finish studying its capabilities.
