Question ID: 229937
I am looking for an article published in the British Journal of
Psychology in 1975. The authors are D. R. Godden and A. D. Baddeley.
The title of the article is "Context-dependent memory in two natural
environments: On land and underwater." The number 66 is given next to
the journal title (perhaps the volume #) and so are the page numbers
325-331. Can you help me locate this article without having to pay a
subscription fee?

Hello there,

Even if we could locate a copy of this article in electronic format,
we could not post it here for you due to copyright restrictions.

Ordinarily, an article like this can be obtained through interlibrary
loan or from an on-line database. A school or community library
should be able to help you with these options -- there may be a small
fee for the service, but you shouldn't need to subscribe to the
journal itself.

If there's something in particular one of the researchers here can do
to help you track this down, please let us know by posting a Request
for Clarification.

Thanks.

I am using this article as a source for a Psychology assignment. I
just need to know how I can read the article in full-text. In my
searches I just keep getting matches for the article in other peoples'
works cited lists. My university's library does not carry the British
Journal of Psychology. I don't know if this information helps.
Thanks for trying--

Hello lindzdoc-ga,

The article is referenced Godden, D. & Baddeley, A (1975)
Context-dependent memory in two natural environments: On land and
underwater. British Journal of Psychology, 3 (66) pp.325-331. The
number 66 here does refer to the volume.

You can obtain a copy of this article by interlibrary library loan
through most public libraries and many private libraries. One of the
public libraries in your area, or a university library if you are
affiliated with one, can receive your request and will obtain a copy
of the article for you. The Interlibrary Loan section of the library
should be able to identify a source library, but I have verified that,
at least Harvard University and the National Library of Congress each
have this journal issue and can provide it to your library's
interlibrary loan department.

You can contact the Library of Congress's Circulation Section at the
address and number below as one source of further information about
this procedure.
