Where can I get a list of all the municipal courts in Texas, including
Court Name, City Name, Phone Number and Address (Clerk name would be
great too)?

Providing the list would be even better...

Hi robertg-ga:

After searching through several Texas-based legal websites that only
contained partial listings of municipal courts (usually the ones with
their own websites), I finally found what appears to be a complete
list at "The Texas Judicial Directory Online".

Go to their internal search page at:
http://www.info.courts.state.tx.us/juddir/juddir.exe/ppSearchMain?

If you choose "Municipal Courts" for *Court Type* and then a
particular *County*, you'll get a listing of all the courts in that
county with address, phone, and presiding judge.

I was unable to find a comparable list of clerks for these 800+
courts.
Since not every court has a web presence, you may need to call each
individual court if you want this information. Alternatively, you
might try contacting the Texas Court Clerks Association for more
information.
Website: http://www.texascourtclerks.org/

If you would like me to compile a single list from the information
returned by searching each individual county, please let me know. I'd
be happy to do so if you want that. :-)

Hope this helps. Please ask for clarification if you need it.

websearcher-ga, that would be great if you could do that!

Hi robertg-ga:

Well, I finally finished compiling the list for you. There are 866
separate municipal courts listed. Each listing looks like:

COURT NAME
County
Presiding Judge
Street Address
City, TX Zip Code
Phone #

Instead of appending this huge file to this answer, I've put the file
up on a website for you to access. The URL is:

http://www.silvermasters.com/utilities/courts-text.txt

Please let me know when you've been able to get the information and if
there are any problems. :-)

Thanks. Hope this helps.

Hi robertg-ga:

I will certainly do that for you. :-)

I have to go teach a class right now, but I'll work on this later
tonight. Is there any particular (text-based) format you'd like the
information in? If you don't answer this, I'll just make my best
guess.

Thanks.

Whatever format you come up with will work.

Thanks, robertg-ga.

Turns out this compiling is a lot more work than I thought it would
be....

I'm still happy to do it for you, it's just going to take some more
time. I'm about 60% done - I'll try to get the other 40% done
tomorrow.

(This is gonna be one BIG file.....) ;-)
