setting, etc.

A non credit course would be find. I have a little knowlede thru
actual hands on experience. A Distance learning course may also be of
use. I can not afford yo put a lot of money into this. I a handicapped

Just a personal oppionion.

I starting with a long comment, but let me just say this.
There are tons of topics in Sound Engineering.

Live performances,
Broadcasting
Recording
Using installed equipment
Setting up your own equipment and setting levels.

Each of these areas can use different skill sets and equipment.
A sound engineer at a tv studio probably will not be fully qualified
to mix a rock concert at an outdoor ampatheatre.

Althought there will be carry over skills, you will probably have to focus
on one segment.

This doesn't answer your question, but it may help steer you in the
right direction.

My husband is a great sound engineer, but he knows that slightly
different skills--and knowledge of different kinds of equipment and
what is best to use under particular situations--is essential. A radio
engineer uses different equipment from someone running sound for live
theatre; even though they both use mics, for example, they need
different kinds of mics and a knowledge of how best to use them in
their particular situation.
