Hi tony450,
"There are a couple of programs which let you read DOC files directly
on your Pocket PC. PeekABook and Starbuck are both shareware programs
that can read .prc and .pdb DOC files on the Pocket PC. Starbuck has
support for a few more file types (bReady, html, and Unicode) in
addition to reading text and DOC files, but both programs have a rich
feature set including autoscroll, variable font sizing, bookmarking,
and full screen mode. Since both have free trial periods, see which
you prefer before registering.
If you want to convert DOC files to readable text on your desktop PC,
there are a couple of programs available. DocReader simply converts
DOC files in .prc or .pdb format to text, which can be copied and
pasted into whatever program you wish. WordDocConvert is a plug-in to
Microsoft Word, which allows Word to read DOC files. As an added
bonus, WordDocConvert also opens JFile databases and converts them to
.csv files which can be opened in Pocket Excel.
Once the DOC files have been converted to text, you can upload them
directly to your Pocket PC either as a Pocket Word file or an html
file."
