Can somebody give me a list of web sites providing an exchange market
for business projects such as www.elance.com? Especially, I am
interested in web sites where I can obtain expertise for projects
aimed at the European market (especially UK, Germany, France). I tried
www.elance.co.uk but it simply points back to www.elance.com and I
wonder if that web site is frequented a lot by people with that
specific expertise.

Hello,

I would recommend that you use elance.com (http://www.elance.com). It
is simply the biggest and best site of it's kind available.

If you're against using elance.com, you might want to check out
freelance.com (http://www.freelance.com). If you look underneath
their logo about an inch, you will find a drop-down menu of countries
to choose from.

As for freelance/contractor websites specifically in the UK and
Germany, try these sites:
http://www.efreelancers.co.uk/
http://guardian.newmedia-match.com/
http://www.freelancewebprojects.com/ (had a UK address so I would
assume that it's focused the UK market, but that's not necessarily
true)
http://www.stepstone.de

I can't read French, so I didn't find any websites devoted soley to
French projects. If the websites I've mentioned above don't meet your
needs, just let me know and I'll look harder.

Thanks for the question and if you require more information, don't
hesitate to ask for clarification. And if you find this answer
satisfactory, please feel free to rate it. Thank you!

If you're looking for a market researcher, I suggest finding research
firms, not service bidding websites. I think you're find more what
you want there. Thanks for the rating!

It seems that elance is indeed the web site with the widest area of
topics. Since I didn't get a lot of bids for a market research project
in the area of European financial markets I thought there might be
some other competing sites also specific to such an area. However,
thanks very much for your suggestions.

http://www.guru.com is US-centric, but might worth a look. Many guru's
will travel to bring you their perspective. It is free/cheap to post a
project. (See the T&Cs at the site)

If you want market research using web based surveys, a good one is

idea of applying to be a Google Answers Researcher.)

Hagen,

That was an excellent "comment", but it would not make a good "answer"
because it didn't give any urls for UK resources as requested by the
questioner. It provided additional information which makes it a good
comment. Just pointing out that difference bewteen comment and
answer. Good job!

Although not focused on UK based sites, the mentioned sites were new
to me and seem to provide something I actually wanted. So I am
thankful for this comment!

Given below are the E- marketplaces that are in the same league as
www.elance.com. All of them have venture capital funding or are backed
by big names

The articles in the links given below discuss the business models of
these E marketplaces

However, there are also quite a number of small market places which do
similar work, some of them are targeted at the European markets.
