Hi R2L, You had mentioned you have a local contact in Jo'burg who might be able to recommend a hostel for me to stay at. I am looking for a hostel for 7 nights in late August/early September. I am looking for: - *** SAFE AREA *** Nothing too close to train or bus stations, since I've been told those are mugging areas - Free or low cost shuttle to the airport (since I won't be close to train/bus!) - Walking distance to local attractions/shopping/museums/cafes. - Onsite travel desk - Fun atmosphere! Cost is not a major factor, since most hostels I've searched on the internet are very reasonable (by Canadian standards). Thanks, Kariny |

Hi there! Sorry not to have answered before. I'm on vacation and having to connect from an internet cafe - have been incommunicado this past couple of weeks (and frankly, it's been bliss, haven't touched a computer, any computer, at all!). I have now emailed my Jo'burg contact - but I know she is on vacation too and may be as unget-holdable as I have been. Can you give us a couple of days - but if I don't get an answer soon, I suggest you cancel this question and open it to all researchers. Did you get to Frankfurt? Best, r2l. |
