The answer is 2, literature.
A number of famous literary works were created by residents of Athens.
Socrates and Plato, two famous philosophers, were born in Athens.
While Socrates wrote nothing himself, Plato, his student, wrote a
number of works including the Republic. Aristophanes, a writer of
comedic plays, lived in Athens. Among his most famous works are The
Frogs and The Clouds. Aristotle, a prolific author, also lived for a
period in Athens. Aristotle wrote about a number of topics, including
logic, ethics, natural sciences, and politics.
The Athenians lacked highly developed industry, were defeated in war
by the Spartans, and the Greek Gods are no longer worshiped today
(monotheism is dominant in the world), so the other answers cannot
possibly be correct.
