Dear sir;
I know ranking on Google is determined largely by the number of
websites that link to my website, If somebody placed my picture in
his/her webloge by refering its address like this:
http://www.photospreview.com/artandarchitecture/architecture/imgarc/2262_s2.jpg
Can be effective for my ranking?
I wish to thank you beforehand.

                      With the best regards:Yashayai

Hi Yashayai,

Good day and thanks for your question.

If a website links to the image (by using the <A HREF> tag), then it
certainly helps in improving your relative standing in the index.

However, if the image is displayed using the <IMG> tag, then it has no
effect, however, it may help the ranking of your image in the Google
Image search.

The way the google crawler works is that it indexes a page and then
indexes other pages to which the initial page links to. That way, it
weaves through pages and indexes them. On the other hand, displaying
an image using the <IMG> tag causes a dead-end.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any clarifications,
please don;t hesitate to ask. Thank you for using this service and
have a nice day.

Warm regards,
aditya2k.
