7-16-2003 If you search Google Answers with the word "Hensman" you will find that you posted this question previously--you were advised to call the Los Angeles County Superior Court to get information about the will. Did you do this? What were you told? It is likely that if the will has not been filed by now, then the executor or someone else is likely deliberately withholding it from filing. If you think you were named as a potential beneficiary, then you may want to consider hiring a probate attorney in Los Angeles County to pursue your legal interests in this estate, and consider paying a private investigator a few hundred dollars to do a financial background check on Mr. Hensman and the other parties listed in his obituary notice to get some idea of Mr. Hensman's financial assets were handled (a trust could have been created, or he could have simply granted someone power of attorney to handle his affairs). 7-23-2003 The reason that the clerk could not give you an exact figure of how much to send was because she did not have Mr. Hensman's file right there at her fingertips. She should have taken your number and looked at the file and then called you back. If you know someone who lives in the same city where the courthouse is located, it would be better if you could ask that person to visit the courthouse for you to get the copies. But if you don't know anyone, then call the courthouse back and leave your number with them or tell them you will call back within an hour to give them time to find Mr. Hensman's file and let you know what the exact fee will be. If I were you, I would order a copy of every page in the file because it would give you an overview of everything involved, including financial information, about the handling of the estate and names of all parties involved. Anyway, leave your phone number with them and also an e-mail address and a mailing address so they will know how to get in touch with you. SINCERELY, KEITH (I'm NOT a GOOGLE Researcher) |
