I live in Atlanta area - Roswell - I want to buy a custom bike to ride
mainly on Silver Comet Trail which is currently about 40 miles long -
I currently ride a mountain bike that weighs about 29 pounds and
that's a lot to push for 80 miles round trip. I once tried a custom
bike that weighed approximately 22 pounds but haven't been able to
locate it on the internet. It might have been a Raleigh.

Good bikes, regardless if they are road, mountain or comfort, start
around the $350-$400 mark. I found this one
http://www.fisherbikes.com/bikes/bike_detail.asp?bike=Zebrano which
you might just as a sample but you might really want to try Gary
Fisher's "matchmaker" to help you find the kind of bike that you are
looking for. http://www.fisherbikes.com/matchmaker/

There is a big difference between Mountain and Comfort bikes, make
sure that you know what you want and what you are looking for. If the
silver comet is all that you ride I would recommend a decent road
bike, Cannondale makes several in the $400 range.
http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/03/cusa/model-3HS7Y.html I would
recomend crusing around the site and just getting and idea of what
kind of bike looks good and fits your requirments.

You will be very hard pressed to find a 22 pound comfort bike. I own
a 22 pound mountain bike and I spent great amounts of money to get it
that way. If you are that concerned about weight, a road bike will be
the way you want to go. Usually, the cheaper road bikes start out
around 25 pounds or so, but they are not as comfortable as said
comfort bikes.

I would recomend checking out Atlanta Cycling which is at Gwinnett
Place Mall or Bike Town USA which is up 985 in Gainsville. Either of
these shops have a full range of bikes, although Bike Town usually
carrys a much wider selection of the lower end models. Both shops
will talk to you and let you ride some different models so that you
can get a feel for what you are really looking for.
