I am looking for this poduct were a guy i knew had, its very hard to explane but i will try my best. It looks like a normal PDA stuck to a note book witch has normal A4 paper, the one i say had the PDA on the left and normal paper on the right, the strange thing is that when he started to wright on the paper what ever was on that paper was stored on to the PDA, were he can latter save or deleate it. That was about 2 years ago maybe there is a newer version of it and a better one. I am looking for that product and am not sure whats the name or price of it. I would like please the name of similer products and or better ones. I right lots of note and it a pain in the A$$ to have to look back for them again, i am looking for a technology that will help me in that case. |

There are a few products in this category to consider. Seiko has a product line that looks identical to what you were asking about. One version is called the SmartPad2 ($100). There is also a SmartPad ($70). The difference appears to be a QWERTY keyboard that can be tapped using a stylus in the case of the SmartPad2. http://www.siibusinessproducts.com/products/sp582.html (SmartPad2) http://www.siibusinessproducts.com/products/sp580.html (SmartPad) Here is a review of two other similar products: http://www.siibusinessproducts.com/products/pdf/NYT021303.pdf "Scrawl to Screen, With a Pen" By DAVID POGUE, The New York Times, February 13, 2003 Logitech's Io pen(about $170) http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?countryid=19&languageid=1&page=products/features/digitalwriting&CRID=1545 The Seiko Ink Link ($100) http://www.siibusinessproducts.com/products/link-ir-p.html According to the article, the disadvantage to the Logitech product is that it requires special, fairly expensive paper. If the paper is no longer made in the future, then the product wouldn't work. The Seiko product doesn't require special paper. A similar product, called the CrossPad, was made by IBM, but it has been discontinued. IBM also has a TransNote product, but it requires a ThinkPad notebook computer, and it may also be discontinued. I hope one of these products will meet your needs. Please request clarification if needed. Sincerely, Wonko |

Sounds like a precursor to a modern tablet PC to me. My uncle had something similar, with the actual paper and a tablet backing, but it was hooked up to a laptop instead of a PDA. Are you looking for something that will do the same thing as this 2-year-old product you saw? Because since then there have been many new products that will probably do the same thing and are cheaper and probably better. Let me know if you would like me to research some of those for you. |
