After installing MS Publisher 2002 I loaded
a 16 page document into it. Publisher 02
does page navigation by running a series of
little numbered tiles along the bottom of
the screen. You click on the tile with the
number of page you want to switch to.

At some point I did something (I guess) and
the navigation tiles disappeared. Of course this
makes it impossible to work on my document.

I see only two possibilities. Either there
is a switch somewhere that allows the user to
make the page navigation tiles disappear (tho
why on earth would anyone ever need that?), or
I somehow deleted all the pages of my document
except the first one.

I excluded the second hypothesis by reloading
my document from the one I originally loaded
into Publisher. Still no tiles. I then
excluded the first by reinstalling the program.
No tiles. I then re-excluded the second by
building up a new multi-page document from
scratch. No tiles even in the new document.

Nothing in the help files under 'page navigation'.

I have no idea where to go from here.

Hello Fred,

I know how you feel about being frustrated on not being able to
navigate through the pages of your document. Well actually it's pretty
simple, even though the navigation tiles on the lower left hand corner
of the interface is missing, you can just simply press the F5 key and
the "Go to page" dialogue box will appear. You only need to enter the
page number of the page you want to go to. Always keep in mind that
most programs have several ways to execute the same task and this is
one option that you should remember.

The reason your navigation tiles vanished is because you have
unchecked the Status Bar. To bring back the navigation tiles:

1) Go to the View menu and check Status Bar.

or

2) Press Alt+V then A.

Like I said, there are several ways to execute the same task in most
programs.
