Question ID: 232061
I would like to record the video (and sound if possible) portions of a
Netmeeting video conference. What are the easiest and least expensive
programs to use? (I am aware of Hypercam, Softcam, Camtasia, SnagIt,
and Video Conference Recorder.) They all seem to offer free trials
with some limit to encourage you to purchase. If you could find out
what the limitation of the free trials of the programs you describe
that would be helpful.
Also, I have been told that programs exist that can allow someone to
detect if the person on the other end of the videoconference is
recording the video. Is this possible? What are these programs and
what do they detect?

We are using Netmeeting 3.01 and need this work on Windows 2000 and
XP.

A complete answer will include 1) list of recording programs that are
the easiest to use and least expensive 1a) the limitations of the free
trials of the recording programs 2) identification of program(s) that
can detect if the other side is recording a Netmeeting

The main thing I need to find out is if there is a program that can
detect when the other side of a netmeeting is recording the video
conference. If you can just provide that information I would be
satisfied.

I have most of the information about the different programs, was
mainly hoping that someone could share personal experience or
opinions.

I don't know if my clarification was clear. I mainly need information
on the detection program(s), not the recording programs.
