In the 1970 thru 1972 there was a rock group that sang a song about a
horifick crash called ()I remember)where the singer was describing
what he was going through being involved in a crash and dying. What
was the name of the group and what was the name of the song?

bobo,

I can think of a song that fits your description; however, it was
initially recorded a little earlier than the dates that you provided.
How sure are you of the years? Do you remember any of the words in the
song?

Thanks,

aceresearcher

I am certain that the song you remember is "DOA," by Bloodrock, as
mentioned by the comment made by dancethecon-ga.

I have located a site where you can listen to "DOA" in RealAudio
format online. If you'd like me to post the link to this audio file as
an answer to your question, I'll gladly do so.

I think I know the song you mean, Bobo53. It's probably "D.O.A." It
was released on an April, 1970 album by the group Bloodrock. I knew
some of the lyrics, but couldn't remember the group's name, so I did a
Google search for the line "we were flying along, and hit something in
the air." You can find the complete lyrics at

Ace, I hope I'm not stepping on your toes. But if you're thinking of
an earlier song, there's a good chance it's not the right one. That's
assuming that my guess is what Bobo53 is looking for, of course. :-)

Not at all, dance -- I'd say you hit bobo's nail on the head, so to speak.

Nicely done!

Oh, great.

For some reason, all this talk of roads and death has now got the old
Loudon Wainwright III song going through my head, and now I'm going to
have to try to go to sleep while listening to THAT.

Gee, thanks ever so much. ;-)

Hi, Ace,

As much as I love animals, a dead shunk in the middle of the road is
better than a dead grandma who's been run over by a reindeer.

Sweet dreams tonight! ;-)

Song on the same topic: "In the Kingdom #19", by Sonic Youth, from the
album "Evol" (which you play when your Love runs backwards).
