I was watching a movie yesterday called Heartbreakers. At one scene she (sigourney weaver) said "I micked him" after she made the guy drunk and made him to sleep with him. What is the meaning of that "mick" word? I couldn't find it. I need to find out the Dictionary meaning. |

Dear airtughan-ga; Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting question. What Sigourney Weavers character was referring to was the covert application of a drug (usually Chloral Hydrate in a drink containing alcohol) commonly called a Mickey Finn or sometimes more generically, the infamous slang term, knock-out drops. For the sake of the movie (and to be more cool I suppose) the term was shortened to Mick, probably assuming that many viewers would know what she was talking about. In real-life however, Chloral Hydrate is a substance far too dangerous to be arbitrarily played with. It is a very serious Schedule IV pharmaceutical sedative that is synergistic with alcohol and has the same depressive attributes on the central nervous system as barbiturates, often bringing on a coma-like state. Too much of it or an adverse reaction to it can cause breathing difficulty and/or abnormally low blood pressure sometimes resulting in death.
