I'm using Win XP and I'm connected to ADSL. I've used my ISP's self
install software to configure the Speedtouch 530 router. I believe the
router's firewall is enabled by default and I've also enabled XP's
firewall and the internet connection worked fine.

The problem: if I enabled XP's firewall and then reboot then in
'Network Connections' the 'Internet Gateway' icon disappeared. If I
disabled XP's firewall and then reboot then in 'Network Connections'
the 'Internet Gateway' icon would reappear.

What's the significance of the 'Internet Gateway' icon? Can the
firewalls prudently co-exist? If yes, how? If not, why? Please don't
recommend other firewall solutions. Thank you.
