I hereby repost my question, and my rating: rating = 5 instead of 1!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original question:
Hello
I am a bank employee. For the moment I have to make an information
bank with scannings of international banknotes (as well as current
ones (even those of the countries who use the euro, but whose notes
are still redeemable for a couple of years, as those who are to be
redeemed within a couple of years. I have a phtographic reproductions
at the head office, but it will take *a lot of time* to scan them
neatly. The concerned continents are: America, Africa, Asia, Oceanië,
Europe.
Where can I find such reproductions specimen in color on internet?

Your answer:

>>I was very interested in your search, and have found a great number
of resources I'm sure you'll be happy with, and one site in particular
I
find very fascinating.

The primary resource for you in my opinion is going to be
banknotes.com (http://www.banknotes.com). This site is a comprehensive
and exhaustive research of most all, if not every banknote in the
world! This site is very user friendly, and its menu structure is
hierarchical by continent and on down, so your specific notes will be
easy to find. I sampled a few graphics of notes from very obscure
countries, and found each scan to be of superior quality and most
likely will fill your need. In addition, I also have included below
the links to sites of interest for the United States, Canada and Euro
banknotes. I'd start with the banknotes.com though.

I hope this helps, and good luck! -0- mosquitohawk-ga

My search strategy was to use google.com with the following keywords,
no quotes: 'banknotes currency [country]'

Banknotes.com
http://www.banknotes.com/
A comprehensive and exhaustive reference, including high quality scans
of world banknotes, including all those continents you have listed.<<

You need to repost your question at the above $$, if you want me to
answer it again, specifically request that in the body of your
question. Instead of rejecting my answer, in the future, you can ask
for clarification from the answerer and not give them a bad rating.
Bad ratings can cause researchers to be dropped.

If you must have those things, then you should mention them
specifically because according to your question, I answered it wholly.
If you had been more specific, you would have received a more specific
answer.

Anyway, these are just suggestions, so if you want to repost your
question at the higher rate, go for it!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, here goes the repost of my question

My reply:

I thank you for you search. However it is not what I'm looking for.
What I am exactly looking for are the scans of the banknotes who are
still in
circulation, also the scannings until the date that they are
redeemable (exchangeable). In every way the have to be stamped
"specimen".
It is not for my hobby, it's on behalf of my job, at KBC Bank Belgium.

Please note that I repost my previous rating: 5!
Looking forward to you results!
Kind regards,

Hello rambogonzales!

Apparently, it's quite difficult to find banknote scans stamped
"Specimen". I've only been able to find these in some Central Bank
pages from around the world, but some of them are of very poor
quality, while others don't even have the "Specimen" stamp.

I can either direct you to a web site that has excellent quality scans
of every banknote (NOT stamped) currently in circulation around the
world; or list the links to scans stamped "Specimen" available at
Central Banks, but only for some countries. Is there any set of
countries you're especially interested in? Would this be enough for
you?

Best luck,

elmarto-ga

Greetings Mr. Gonzales,

It is highly unlikely that any one site hosts *all* the possible
banknotes in the world. I was able to muster up a few sites, which I
feel would be of help to you. You're looking for notes which are still
in circulation. This means that you're not looking for the following
currencies :

Currency Phased Out

ATS Austria, Schilling February 28, 2002
BEF Belgium, Franc February 28, 2002
DEM Germany, Deutsche Mark February 28, 2002
ESP Spain, Peseta February 28, 2002
FIM Finland, Markka February 28, 2002
FRF France, Franc February 17, 2002
GRD Greece, Drachma February 28, 2002
IEP Ireland, Pound February 9, 2002
ITL Italy, Lira February 28, 2002
LUF Luxembourg, Franc February 28, 2002
NLG The Netherlands, Guilder January 28, 2002
PTE Portugal, Escudo February 28, 2002
VAL Vatican City, Lira February 28, 2002

The above countries now transact in Euros.

If you're concentrating on a particular set of countries, then it
would be best to go to the Central Bank of that country to get the
lates information on the currencies. If you're looking for a broader
range, the site atsnotes.com is probably what you're looking for. The
full URL is in the links section below. The images on atsnotes.com
have the site's name across the image, rather than a 'Specimen' stamp.
Another useful site is http://webhome.idirect.com/~mjp/mjpwww.html,
which is a directory of over 250 currency related sites.

If after this, you're still not satisfied, then you have two options.
One, visit the central banks of each country. Otherwise, you'll have
to go to www.banknotes.com and put the specimen stamp yourself, in
addition to blacking out the serial number.

If you have anything to clarify, please feel free to do so. I won't be
satisfied untill you are.

This is a followup to an answer I gave earlier, please do not take
this question as it is intended as a clarification, and not a new
question. I will get to it by 3:00pm EST on 6/7/02. Thanks, after
that, anyone can have it.
