Question ID: 232726
I would like to get the retail markup (profit margin) and slotting
fees of the following items on grocery shelves (Loblaw's or Metro) in
the Montreal and Toronto area:
- bottled water (Naya, Perrier)
- beer (Grolsch, Beck's)
- high-end chocolate (Lindt or Cote D'Or)
- cheese (raw milk)

A satisfactory answer will list approximate retail markups (profit
margin) and slotting fees of most of the categories above - I don't
need exactly the brands mentioned. A satisfactory alternative answer
would list the retail markups and slotting fees for several other
high-end grocery products in those markets.

Andy --

Experience tells me that information at this level of detail --
particularly slotting fees -- will be available only through
consultants working daily in that industry. As such, it will be
proprietary and not inexpensive.

You won't get an answer for beer in Toronto grocery stores since the
only stores allowed to sell beer in Ontario are government run beer
and liquor stores.
