I have an office network behind a hardware firewall. I'm adding a
Windows XP machine (Home not Office OS). The machine can see all the
network machines it's supposed to, but in trying to log it on to the
folder on the server it needs to read/write, it can only read the data
in the folder. When it tries to ask for the password, I type the
password in, and then the password box just sits there. It doesn't
give an error message, it just ignores the fact that I've clicked the
'Enter' button. How do I set this up to network properly?

Not sure how relevant this is, but I know from my own experience that
Windows XP home does not integrate into Windows networks fully. ie. an
XP home machine CANNOT JOIN a windows Domain, although it CAN see
shares and computers on the network.
