I thought I would try to find an answer to your question thinking it might be a fun and relatively easy way to make $30, so I quickly found the answer to your question, went through the whole sign-up and read-all-the-legal-stuff process, and then found out that I won't get paid at all because I am not a Google Researcher and Google is not accepting applications for researchers so there is no way to become one--how disappointing! Oh well, hardly your fault, so here is the answer anyway. You can order the book you mention at "Casa del libro" either by taking the following link (if it works for you): http://www.casadellibro.com/fichas/fichabiblio/0,1094,2900000634816,00.html or by going to casadellibro.com and entering the title in the box under "buscador" There is no mention of whether this book is also written in Portuguese, but it does have the right title and publication date. I have ordered books more than once from Casa del libro, and they may be slower than you are used to about getting back to you to confirm your order, etc., but it does finally arrive and in good shape after a couple weeks (assuming you pay for fast shipping). Good luck. If you get a chance, and this turns out to answer your question, maybe you could put in a kind comment for me at Google and see if they will open up researcher positions again. Thanks! Chris-I have done just exactly what you suggested and if my Spanish held out, I should get the book in a while. You can't believe how happy you have made me with this. I have searched everywhere for this book for 5 years since seeing a copy in Paris. I would be happy to do something in exchange for you. How do I do that? Jennie73 |

Hi, Jennie, I am just glad to have been able to help you and to hear that my answer (er, "comment" rather) has made you that happy. : ) If you have sent a note to Google about this and about opening up researcher positions again--and it sounds like you already have--that is all I would ask of you. Thanks, though, for the very kind offer. (It took me all of 30 seconds to find the book, anyway, since I knew where to look.) I hope your Spanish did indeed serve you and that your book arrives soon. I always find it a little exciting to be waiting for a book from overseas. Usually, in my case, it is a dictionary or other specialized book that either is not available in the U.S. or else is available overseas at half the U.S. price!!!! It often pays to "go to the source," even if that source is just a foreign branch of a U.S. company, such as http://www.amazon.co.uk, for example, for books sold in the UK. This is also a great way to find unique gifts as long as you shop far enough ahead (though some items cannot be shipped to U.S. customers from foreign stores if the manufacturer has some other exclusive arrangement with a U.S. store for sales here). Anyway, Jennie, I am glad to have been able to help, glad to hear you are happy, and hope you are happier still when your book arrives! : ) Chris |
