How do I best bag a snack for retail sale -- Do I do it myself or hire it out somewhere? I am considering starting a small business and plan to market and sell some snack-type foods. Ideally I would like to package these snacks in a bag that hangs from a peg in a convenience/grocery store. How do I go about making these bags myself without any huge investment, or where do I find a means to have them made up for me and I seal one edge or what? The bags will need to be labeled (printed on the plastic or a sticker or something stuck on) across the hanging area so the product is very visible. This business will start out slow and I do not want to invest a huge amount of $, but I wasnt to have something better than a brownie wrapped in Saran wrap with a sticker covering the entire product... |

First be sure to check with your state or county health department for regulations concerning packaging food; labeling requirements, taxes, permits etc. There are some companies that sell small plastic bags and heat sealers. For a couple hundred bucks you could probably get the supplies you need. |
