Internet explore V6 on XP Home Pltform keeps failing, seems to have
started doing this after applying SP1. Have applied all the latest
patches, etc.

try this patch http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=816506 .  Dont know
if it is exactly what you need though.  I would highly reccommend a
different browser.  My favorite is Mozilla Firebird.

U need to uninstall Yahoo Companion from ur system. This is major bug
with Internet explore V6 on XP Pltform
